Polimoda International Institute of Fashion, Design & Marketing
Established in 1986 and based in Italy, it is a member of the International Foundation for Fashion Technology Institutes. It has strong affiliations with the University of New York and other schools. Programs provide internationally recognized knowledge and skills in many areas involving the fashion industry.
Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design
This location is one of six colleges that comprise the highly regarded University of the Arts London. Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne
Established since 1928, this is the most prestigious location in France to learn and develop the knowledge and skills as a fashion designer. Greats such as Laurent and Valentino have studied at this Parisian school, giving the school well deserved recognition and status in the fashion industry.
Beckmans College of Design
Established in 1939, this is a quiet school which offers only three programs fashion, design, and visual communication. Its location in Sweden makes it easily accessible and the main focus for the regions in Northern Europe.
Making a Decision
When deciding upon a college to develop skills as a fashion designer, a person should thoroughly examine every aspect of what the program is offering. Some of these colleges offer only undergraduate or graduate opportunities. Also to be considered is the need for continuing education since all of these schools do not offer this to its graduates.
